Winter Skin Care Tips

Skin care plan!

Skin care tips are important all year round. As if keeping your skin healthy day to day weren’t hard enough, Mother Nature has to throw us a couple curve balls every year – the summer season and the winter season. Just when we think we’ve got our skin figured out, the season changes and our skin doesn’t look or feel the same way, and certainly doesn’t react the same way to what we put on it. What you need to do is come up with a plan for the winter season that is different from what you do during the summer season.

Winter Skin Care Tips

Skin Care Tips For Winter and Summer
Skin Care Tips
Generally, winter wrecks havoc with our skin because of low humidity. We make it worse by turning up the heat in our house and the car. If you live in an area of the country where winter humidity is low, then consider using a humidifier in your home. A humidifier puts moisture back in the air and can relieve dry itchy skin, and can also stop the “shocks” you get when you touch your light switches. You can get a humidifier that attaches to your furnace or a less expensive portable one that is freestanding.
Don’t turn your shower, bath, or tap water hotter even though it feels so good and warms you. Hot water causes your skin to dry out. Use lukewarm to wash your hands, and keep your shower at a comfortably warm, not scalding, temperature. Your skin will thank you.
Consider switching out your moisturizer if the one you are using isn’t cutting it. Try one that has oil in it, like an ointment or night cream, especially for your hands. It forms a layer that helps protect your skin. An ointment or night cream might not be right for all areas of your body though, and you’ll need to experiment.

Five tips to look your best after Thanksgiving!

Now that you are done, stuffing and perking the Turkey and spending all that time preparing an amazing meal for the entire family, they will soon not forget any time soon. Starting tomorrow its "ME" time.

Here are 5 beauty and makeup tips to look your best after Thanksgiving.

~ Pooneh

Go easy on the shades that are too bright (although a red lipstick is a general fail safe). Play with the tones that suit your face

Go Easy On the Frosty and Pink Shades: Sure, we are excited about all those frosty colors that are out right now and the Fuschia lip colors that are in right now, but err on the side of caution when it comes to going wild on both eyes and lips. After all, who wants to look like a drag queen during Thanksgiving, and surely Halloween is over?
Emphasize the Lip or the Eyes, not Both: If you’re aiming for one accent, then deck the eyes OR the lips with some heavy armory, just not both. It’s  a bit overwhelming to serve turkey to someone who looks as though she should have looked in the mirror, but didn’t.
Wear Eyeliner and Mascara: It’s definitely all about accenting the eyes, but not in a heavy artillery way. A smokey eye looks glamorous for any occasion, and we recommend topping off your makeup with eye liner andm mascara Seriously, you can’t go wrong.
Bring Extra Blotting Papers or Use a Mattifyer: Unless you have tried and true melt-proof makeup, bring extra blotting papers to avoid looking to dewy, especially if you’ve been cooking all day. Wearing a Golden Caviar Makeup Primer helps.
Skin Perfect: Do use primer and get your foundation perfect ( Golden Caviar's COQ-10 full coverage Foundation). Great skin is SO in, and Thanksgiving Day is not the time to let your pores and imperfections show, especially at the dinner table or photos.

False Eye Lashes

false eye lashes 150x150 8 Quick steps to apply False EyelashesWhat are False Eyelashes?

False eyelashes are found in local beauty supply stores, these are synthetic lashes which are glued to the original eyelashes to give bigger and beautiful eyes. Here are some tricks and steps to apply false lashes. The things you need for this are the false eyelashes, lash glue, an eyelash curler and a mirror. That’s it…its that simple, take a look at Golden Caviar Skin Care's Holiday "Bling" Lashes!

Tips and Tricks in applying False Eyelashes:

  1. Being patience is must for applying the  false eyelash, because this is not something which you can do in hurry.
  2. Stand or sit in front of a mirror and take out the false lashes which you have bought and open the glue tube and apply small strips on the tissue first for a practice.
  3. Then take the eyelash curler and gently curl you eyelashes, do not crimp them.
  4. Apply the glue on the inner side of the synthetic lash using your finger. Make sure that you apply the glue only on the false eyelashes and not to your eye directly because it will burn and if accidentally this happens, take out the false eyelashes and wash your eyes thoroughly with running water.
  5. With the help of a tweezers, apply the false eyelashes close to your natural lash line of your eye.
  6. Keep pressing and holding your false eyelashes for a minute, especially the corners using your fingers.
  7. After the glue has dried use a eyelash curler to curl your eye, then apply mascara to the false eyelashes
  8. Continue to follow the same steps for the other eye.

How to make your eyes look bigger!

    • 1
Use eyeliner only on the outer rim of the eyelids, not the inner rim.
    • 2
Blend eyeliner with a cotton swab rather than leaving it as a harsh line.
    • 3
Avoid drawing eyeliner on the inner corner of the lower lid; instead, start the line at the beginning of eyelash growth or even closer to the middle of the eye.
    • 4
Use a light shade of eye shadow on the upper lid leading up to the brow, which will open up the eye. A darker color can be used in the fold of the eye.
    • 5
Consider wearing false eyelashes to give your eyes a more wide-eyed, innocent look. Be sure to use natural-looking eyelashes.
    • 6
Curl your eyelashes with an eyelash curler before applying mascara to give you the same effect as false eyelashes.
    • 7
Try a black mascara if brown does not bring out your eyes enough.

How to Sniff out the right scent for you!

Sniff Out
The Right Scent
If you’ve never worn perfume before or you’re just in the market for a new fragrance, choosing something that suits you can be tough. Do you go fruity and floral or opt for something muskier? Deciding on a signature scent comes down to personal preference, but it can still take time. Here are a few tips to help you determine the very best fragrance for you.
Woman spraying perfume
Fragrances 101
Before you can choose a fragrance you need to know the basics. Perfumes fall under several categories of scent and it can be helpful to know what they are before making your next perfume purchase.

Floral perfume scentFloral:

Probably the most popular scent option, floral perfumes contain the scent of either one flower (rose, gardenia, lavender) or a bouquet of several varieties. Floral scents are feminine and romantic. If you like floral fragrances, try Le Reve by Golden Caviar, Daisy by Marc Jacobs or Ralph Lauren Romance.

Oriental perfume scentOriental:

These scents tend to be muskier and small rich and slightly spicy with hints of vanilla, cinnamon and clove. If you like Oriental fragrances, try Dior Addict by Dior or Flower by Kenzo.

Chypre perfume scentChypre:

This family of perfumes are characterized by an earthy, woodsy scent, with hints of oak, moss and citrus. Try Gucci Rush 2 Perfume by Gucci.

Green perfume scentGreen:

Think fresh cut grass, crushed leaves and other fresh, cool scents that bring to mind the outdoors and open spaces. If you like green fragrances try DKNY Be Delicious Green Apple.

Fougere perfume scentFougere:

Meaning fern in French, this family of scents is stronger and often used in men’s fragrances. They contain hints of oak, moss and fresh herbs. If you enjoy the fougere scents, try Le Reve by Golden Caviar Havana Pour Elle by Aramis.

Oceanic perfume scentOceanic:

These scents are influenced by the sea and evoke being by the ocean (sandy beach, salty air). Oceanic scents are clean, almost-masculine with hints of spice and citrus. If you like oceanic fragrances try Sunflowers by Elizabeth Arden or Cool Water Woman by Davidoff.

Wood perfume scentWood:

Step into a forest and these are the notes you will get with a woody scent. Think pine, cedar, sandalwood - scents that are earthy and musky. If you like woody scents, try Black by Bvlgari.

Cool or Warm tones for Makeup?

Cool or Warm Skin TonesDo You Have Cool or Warm Skin Tones?
When selecting not only your foundation shade of mineral makeup, but also your blush, lip colors and any all-over face colors, you need to know if you should purchase cool or warm colors.
This is based on the undertone of your skin - look at the underside of your arm. If your veins appear bluish you are cool toned, if they appear greenish you are warm toned.
Why is this important?
With the correct colors (in cosmetics and clothing):

  • Your skin tone will appear radiant and glowing
  • Your eyes will appear brighter and clearer
  • Your hair will reflect highlights
  • You will hear compliments - such as "You look great"!
With the wrong colors (in cosmetics and clothing) :
  • Your skin tone will appear tired and drained
  • Your eyes may appear shadowed, dark circles
  • Even your teeth can appear with a slight yellow hue
  • You will hear comments - such as "You look tired” "Do you feel OK?"
If you aren't sure if you have Cool or Warm Skin Tones, these comparisons should help:

CoolWarm
You look best in these colors: You look best in these colors:
Includes "jewel tones" - blues, greens, pinks, purples, blue-greens, magentas, and blue-based reds.Includes "earth tones" - yellows, oranges, browns, yellowish greens and orange-based reds.

Notable examples -
Elizabeth Taylor, Demi Moore, Anne Hathaway, Courtney Cox, Sandra Bullock, Terri Hatcher, Kirstin Davis, America Fererra, Keira Knightley, Eva Longoria, Kim Kardashian, Jennifer Hudson, Liv Tyler, Alexis Bledel, Megan Fox, Jennifer Connelly, Shania Twain, Brooke Shields Sophia Bush, Penelope Cruz, Candace Bergen, Sarah Chalke, Hillary Clinton, Heather Locklear, Britney Spears, Sarah Jessica Parker, Christy Brinkley, Reese Witherspoon, Michelle Pfeiffer, Jeri Ryan, Jennifer Aniston, Ellen Pompano
Notable examples - Nicole Kidman, Meg Ryan, Cameron Diaz, Kate Hudson, Gwyneth Paltrow, Reba McIntyre, Julianne Hough, Sarah Ferguson, Marcia Cross, Calista Flockhart, Rebecca Romjin, Tara Reid, Renee Zellweger, Ellen Degeneres, Diane Sawyer, Amy Adams, Jillian Anderson, Amanda Bynes, Becki Newton, Nicole Richie, Kim Raver, Kristen Johnston, Leona Lewis

Cool or Warm Skin Tones? If you can't decide between Cool or Warm Skin Tones - Cool coloring is much more common than warm. You probably know if you are warm. More & more companies are adding "neutral" colors - if your coloring is more balanced you may want to try colors designated as neutral. If most foundation looks too pink or too yellow, definitely try a neutral (or balanced) shade.

Holiday Beauty Tips with Pooneh

It's beginning to look a lot like…Thanksgiving. Of course, the cans of cranberry sauce have been out at my store since July 4th. I think Santa arrived at Labor Day when the decorations began to appear, but I digress.
As the holiday season really kicks into gear, time seems to fly at a supersonic speed. Most of us are so busy hustling that we forget to take a little bit of "me time" to spruce up our beauty routines before welcoming family and friends. We all have that one person that we want to show off our new looks to, you know who Im talking about, the person that reminds you of how much weight they lost this year, or the new brand name purse they have..........their is always that one person in the family that we cant wait to show our new fabulous look to this time around!
With turkey time under two weeks away now, here are few helpful hints to get glam for the big day.
*Schedule your haircut, color or blowout today. This is the time of year that your stylist will be super busy seeing clients, so you need to make that call pronto. If you need color or highlights that's even more crucial as those appointments fill up even faster. Don't wait until the last minute. There's nothing worse than being shut out ..or having to see someone new at this time of year.
*Think about having a blowout the day before Thanksgiving. Think of how amazing it will be to wake up on turkey morning and just need to give your hair a quick once over. Schedule this now – late in the day, the day before — and it will become a habit before big holidays.
*Think twice about any major changes. This probably isn't the time when you want to chop off your hair or turn your blonde hair fire red. The holidays can be an emotional time, and you don't need to be crying over that vaguely pinkish color that is staring back at you in the mirror because of a mistake.
*Go high brow. While you're at the salon, treat yourself to a brow shaping. It's a quick, easy way to give yourself a beauty booster shot. When the specialist asks if you want to use wax just say no. That causes your skin to crepe (or wrinkle) by your brows. Ask the expert to get out the tweezers and pluck them. If you're worried about pain he or she can numb the area with an ice cube before you begin.
*Do have fun with cosmetics. There are so many amazing holiday makeup kits out there, and thanks to our interesting economic times, the cosmetics companies have lowered the prices on some of their kits that feature everything you need from shadows to blushes to glosses. Dior has a to-die-for holiday kit that has a little sparkle, but doesn't scream, "Let's disco." Stop by these counters and get a quick makeover to see if they work for you.

Pouty Lips in minutes

How to get Pouty Lips, Naturally

Having naturally full, pouty lips is a blessing for those who have them, but for those who don’t it can be an easy process. Follow these tips to get beautiful, full pouty lips in just minutes.
Beauty
All you need is a neutral colored lip pencil, some lipstick (color of your choice) and neutral lip gloss. For best results, you should use a lip exfoliant once a week to get your lips to be as soft as possible. Follow up with a moisturizing lip balm.
Take out your neutral lip pencil and trace along the middle top part of your lip, as well as the bottom middle part. This will give the illusion that your lips are fuller. Dot your lipstick onto your lips to get a stained lips look. Pat it with your fingertips. Finish off with a neutral gloss and you have full pouty lips in just minutes.

Oh-So-Sexy Shiny Legs!

Do you ever wonder how celebrities get those oh-so-sexy shiny legs? Moisturizing isn’t enough to get those stems glowing; you need to learn some tricks to look like you’re red-carpet ready. There are a few things you can do to achieve this look. This includes anything from shimmer powders and creams, oils, petrolatum (e.g. Vaseline), and certain lotions.

If you want a non-greasy solution, shimmer powders are the way to go. Body or all-over shimmer powders can come in a range of colors, so choose one that will flatter your skin tone. For pale skin with pink undertones, use a pink or silver toned powder. Darker skin tones should use bronze and gold shimmers. Victoria’s Secret has shimmer powders that have fragrances built in them – double whammy! You can also use makeup on top of well-moisturized skin. I bought MAC’s mineralize skinfinish as a highlighter that has a high-frost metallic finish. It’s a bit too shimmery for the face (unless you’re looking for that Oscar trophy look), so I use this on my legs and collar bone. (You can use it between your lovely lady lumps like Heidi Klum and other celebrities to give them more depth. Check out the Beyonce look below for another example. Use shimmery bronzer for lighter skin and light shimmers for darker skin.) There are also shimmer lotions/creams which add moisture to your skin while giving your skin a brilliant glow. Be careful to recognize the difference in formulas that contain glitter versus shimmer. I am NOT a fan of looking like a sparkly glitter fairy.
Personally, I enjoy using oil products. While I believe they achieve the shiny celebrity look the best, I’ll warn you that what looks good doesn’t always feel good. Case in point, I had a boyfriend who used to call me his “greasy baby.” But it looks oh-so-hot, and beauty is sacrificing comfort; am I right, ladies? My favorite products to achieve the look are any of the LUSH massage bars. LUSH even has two shimmer infused massage bars, if you want the metallic glow. These bars are made from solid oils that melt when warmed with your own body heat. Rub these babies all over those stems and prepare to get double takes. You can also use regular oils, like sweet almond oil or baby oil. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve left greasy leg prints on cab seats on my way to party, but it’s all in the name of sexiness.

Tame your hair on a rainy day!

https://www.goldencaviarskincare.com//skin-care/catalog/beautiTips.php

Rainy weather can put a big damper on your hairstyle. Though your first inclination might be just to pull your hair in a ponytail and put on a baseball cap, that's not always possible. Don't fret -- your hair can still look amazing even on wet, rainy days.
Ponytail

Try Golden Caviar's Conditioning Masque to tame the Frizz during rainy weather!

If the weather outside is frightful and you have a special date or other important event to attend, follow these tips to manage wavy hair in wet weather.

Get messy

A messy updo or loose ponytail is a fantastic choice when the weather outside is wet and nasty. Instead of a prim and proper bun, these hairstyles are intended to look a little undone. Pull your hair into a low ponytail at the nape of your neck. Secure it and then twist your hair into a simple chignon. Hold it in place with bobby pins, but let the ends stick out. Finish with a spritzing of all-weather hairspray.

Braid it for the ride

If you want to wear your hair down when going out on the town during rainy season, braid it at home in loose braids. Then when you arrive at your destination, you can undo the braids in the car, run your fingers through your hair and make your grand entrance.

Cover it up

When your hair just isn't cooperating, run for cover. Use a scarf or wrap to protect your hair from the wet weather and hide your bad hair day. Scarves can be flirty, exotic or dramatic, depending on how you wear them. Headbands are also trendy (and affordable!) accessories that can be used pull your hair back during wet weather.

Many women want to wear a pretty hair, but environmental aggressions, with which we produce ourselves (irons, dryers, etc..) Do not. However, there are home remedies that address the issue off the hair, leaving hair more beautiful and sexy.
Parsley for beautiful hair
A home remedy is to boil some sprigs of parsley in a saucepan with plenty of water for several minutes. Subsequently allowed to cool and, after washing hair, rinse in final rinse with this mixture. You will notice your hair shinier.

Lemon and vinegar, Grandma's remedy
Our grandmothers knew well how to have beautiful hair without investing in chemicals, rinse hair with a mixture of lemon juice and vinegar (half a glass and a glass, respectively). Will achieve a perfect hair.
Tips for shiny hair
Often, the color of the hair off due to habits that we have and we do not seem harmful. However, please note the following recommendations:
  • Change shampoo: Hair gets used and, even if you use a product for hair shiny, it ceases to be effective.
  • Only apply conditioner on the tips: at the roots will look greasy and dull.
  • Clear your hair with cold water. It's perfect for brightness.
  • Wet hair is more fragile: Beware of combs, not pick it up with rubber bands or hair pins and used a towel to absorb moisture.
