Holiday Beauty Tips with Pooneh

It's beginning to look a lot like…Thanksgiving. Of course, the cans of cranberry sauce have been out at my store since July 4th. I think Santa arrived at Labor Day when the decorations began to appear, but I digress.
As the holiday season really kicks into gear, time seems to fly at a supersonic speed. Most of us are so busy hustling that we forget to take a little bit of "me time" to spruce up our beauty routines before welcoming family and friends. We all have that one person that we want to show off our new looks to, you know who Im talking about, the person that reminds you of how much weight they lost this year, or the new brand name purse they have..........their is always that one person in the family that we cant wait to show our new fabulous look to this time around!
With turkey time under two weeks away now, here are few helpful hints to get glam for the big day.
*Schedule your haircut, color or blowout today. This is the time of year that your stylist will be super busy seeing clients, so you need to make that call pronto. If you need color or highlights that's even more crucial as those appointments fill up even faster. Don't wait until the last minute. There's nothing worse than being shut out ..or having to see someone new at this time of year.
*Think about having a blowout the day before Thanksgiving. Think of how amazing it will be to wake up on turkey morning and just need to give your hair a quick once over. Schedule this now – late in the day, the day before — and it will become a habit before big holidays.
*Think twice about any major changes. This probably isn't the time when you want to chop off your hair or turn your blonde hair fire red. The holidays can be an emotional time, and you don't need to be crying over that vaguely pinkish color that is staring back at you in the mirror because of a mistake.
*Go high brow. While you're at the salon, treat yourself to a brow shaping. It's a quick, easy way to give yourself a beauty booster shot. When the specialist asks if you want to use wax just say no. That causes your skin to crepe (or wrinkle) by your brows. Ask the expert to get out the tweezers and pluck them. If you're worried about pain he or she can numb the area with an ice cube before you begin.
*Do have fun with cosmetics. There are so many amazing holiday makeup kits out there, and thanks to our interesting economic times, the cosmetics companies have lowered the prices on some of their kits that feature everything you need from shadows to blushes to glosses. Dior has a to-die-for holiday kit that has a little sparkle, but doesn't scream, "Let's disco." Stop by these counters and get a quick makeover to see if they work for you.
